Cloud burst triggers emergency on Babusar Top: According to the NDMA’s latest reports, a severe cloudburst occurred at Babusar Top and adjacent areas early this morning, triggering heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides. Geo News confirmed that three people lost their lives and one injured person was shifted to Chilas Hospital. According to The News International, four tourists and one local also died, and three bodies have been recovered so far. Arab News further reported that at least 15 tourists are still missing and a 7–8 km stretch of Babusar Road was completely devastated by the flooding.

Infrastructure Damage and Relief Operations

Landslides and debris blocked Babusar Road entirely; nearly 14–15 major obstructions have been identified. Parts of the Karakoram Highway—especially Lal Parhi and Tatta Pani—were also closed.

Government and Military Rescue Efforts

Local authorities quickly moved stranded tourists to safer areas and shifted them into hotels and guesthouses in Chilas. According to The News, NHA teams are continuously working on road clearance. Some stretches like Passu and Jalkhad have reopened to one-way traffic, while operations continue at Tattapani. The Pakistan Army deployed helicopters and GB Scouts provided food, water, and medical aid to those affected.

Human Casualties and Ongoing Search

As per the NDMA, three bodies have been recovered, one injured person is under treatment, and a 3-year-old child remains missing. Geo News reports that nationwide monsoon-related fatalities have risen to 223 due to additional deaths in this incident.

Weather Forecast and Future Warnings

Arab News reports that PMD has issued high-alert weather warnings for further rain and landslides in Murree, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Geo News confirms that more rain is expected, increasing the risk of flash floods and landslides across northern regions.

Public Advisory and Caution

The NDMA has advised travelers to avoid routes passing through Babusar and Karakoram Highway due to ongoing dangers and unstable conditions. Relief teams are still evaluating damages, and citizens are urged to cooperate with authorities and remain cautious until further notice.
